We pride ourselves on the ability to provide what so many patients believe to be impossible, and that is beautiful, high quality teeth in only one day.
Chrysalis offers the complete package – implant surgery, the crafting of your new teeth and placement under one roof. Your procedure will be performed by a team of highly qualified dental professionals, all of whom will take a personal interest in your care and the results of your procedure.
Chrysalis Dental Centres provide various dental implant procedures; although we specialize in providing full arch dental restoration. Full arch restoration involves replacing all of the teeth from either the upper arch, lower arch or both. The entire procedure can be completed in only one day, including implantation and the fitting of your new, non-removable teeth as well as removal of any existing teeth.
Yes, you can. Many of our successfully treated patients have been smokers. There is a slightly increased risk of complications with active smokers. This will be discussed with you during your consultation.
Chrysalis Dental Centres uses only implants provided by Straumann, one of the world’s leading implant manufacturers. With three decades of clinical experience and more than a million patients treated, Straumann confirms a success rate of almost 98 percent.
Although it is absolutely true that it will usually take three or four months for the dental implants to integrate with (or attach to) the bone, we can utilize these dental implants during this healing period. On the day of the procedure, four to six implants will be placed into the jaw. The new teeth can then be predictably attached to the dental implants as long as the implants are very stable and are rigidly joined together. Implants that are joined together share a common acrylic base; any force against the teeth (the patient biting) is distributed across all of the dental implants, which are now working together as a team. This limits the amount of force transmitted to any single implant and allows patients to use their new teeth for chewing during the first few months while the implants are integrating. According to studies, early and limited compression against the dental implants does not have an adverse effect on the outcome of the case. In fact, there are actually many advantages reported utilizing this treatment approach over conventional methods.
This approach is really not new. There have been reports in the literature for decades. In recent years however, dental implant manufacturers have improved their designs to include treated surfaces and more aggressive thread designs that allow for the implants to be anchored with more stability. This has greatly increased the predictability and, consequently, the number of patients that meet the criteria to benefit from this immediate approach.
By utilizing dental implants and surgical approaches designed for same day teeth, we can achieve sufficient stability on the day of the procedure in more than 95 percent of the cases we treat.
Bone grafting is a very popular and well-documented approach for augmenting deficient bone volumes. You should be aware, however, that there are other surgical approaches that involve tilted implants that dramatically reduce the need for grafting. There are other alternatives to consider if you have been told that bone grafting was required. Use of the tilted implant approach has dramatically reduced the number of patients requiring grafting of any kind. Remarkably, the vast majority of these patients with “limited bone” still meet the surgical requirements for sufficient implant stability in order to receive their teeth on the same day.
Our patients typically report far less discomfort and a quicker healing time than they expected. Pain relievers are usually required for two or three days following the procedure and after that patients are typically pain-free. Most of our patients eat solid food on the day of surgery. You will be eating, laughing, smiling and enjoying life as if you just grew a brand new set of natural teeth.
There are many treatment options that provide improvements over failing teeth or removable dentures. The new Chrysalis Permanent Teeth in a Day implant solution brings patients very close to feeling like they have their own natural teeth. In our experience, most people prefer the comfort and freedom of fixed, non-removable teeth. That is what this new solution delivers.
Chrysalis Teeth in a Day is the next step in the evolution of full arch tooth replacement. It is a practical way to receive a full arch of nonremovable replacement teeth in one day. They look like natural teeth and fit securely without adhesives. The new teeth will not rub or create sore spots, and they don’t slip or fall out. You can fully taste and enjoy your food because the roof of your mouth is not covered. Chrysalis Permanent Teeth in a Day don’t come out at night and they don’t need special cleaning. You can eat whatever you like without a problem. You smile naturally, knowing your teeth look and feel real. All these reasons make it a wonderful solution for people facing or currently wearing dentures.
Even if the bone has significantly receded, the Chrysalis Permanent Teeth in a Day procedure can usually be performed without the need for grafting because of the innovative way the implants are placed. This is often not true for alternative implant techniques. We frequently meet patients who were told by their health care professionals that they will require bone grafting. They are delighted to hear that with the Chrysalis Permanent Teeth in a Day procedure, grafts are usually unnecessary.
Health is more a determining factor than age. If you’re healthy enough to have a tooth extracted, you’re probably healthy enough to receive dental implants. Implant treatment may not be recommended for patients suffering from some chronic illnesses. An examination by one of our Chrysalis dentists, along with a review of your dental and medical history, will help to determine whether you qualify for an implant procedure. Most patients do qualify.
The cost of treatment varies significantly with the solution provided. Because we understand that price is a factor in your decision to proceed, during your consultation we’ll present you with an assortment of dental implant options. All fees are explained in advance. You’ll be given a written quote that includes all aspects of your treatment.
Some insurance companies offer partial reimbursement. It’s best to speak directly with your insurance provider. Chrysalis Dental Centres do offer payment plans to suit most budgets. We also accept certified cheques and credit cards. The cost of implants is a medical expense that can be deducted from your income tax, making it possible to recoup some of your investment. If you own a business, there are additional possible tax advantages which you should discuss with your accountant.
From the moment you walk through the door until long after you leave the office, our priority is you and your smile. That means our staff is committed to making you feel happy, comfortable, and attractive. Are you nervous about going to the dentist? We provide sedation for people with dental fears, so you can stay conscious yet soothed, worry-free, and relaxed. We also can work closely with your own dental professional, making sure the entire process of placing your new teeth is a smooth and even enjoyable experience.
Do you need to replace all of your teeth at one time? Then full mouth dental implants might be the answer you’ve been looking for. Full mouth dental implants are sometimes called “All-on-4” or “All-on-5” or “All-on-6” implants. They essentially support a prosthesis that replaces all of your missing teeth in one arch (upper or lower). This process minimizes the total number of full mouth dental implants needed. The 4, 5, or 6 implants work together as a team to support your new prosthetic teeth.
The number of implants needed for full mouth rehabilitation may vary. Usually it is no fewer than 4 and no more than 6. This number, however, can change depending on the size of your jaw and the quality of bone that is present. Thankfully, placing an implant into the bone will usually cause new bone to develop. Coined osseointegration, the new bone development not only secures the implant, but it also helps to strengthen the overall jaw that the implants are placed into.
If you desire to replace your full smile with individual dental implants, this is also an option. Instead of having fewer implants to support a larger prosthesis – a greater number of implants are used to anchor individual dental crowns or bridges. One of the Chrysalis Dental dentists will assess your smile’s health to see if this is an option, as more bone mass may be needed.
Scheduling a consultation at Chrysalis Dental is a great place to start. Our dentists will thoroughly examine your oral anatomy to determine whether you are a candidate for one of these procedures. Sometimes a graft or different type of implant may be needed for an optimal treatment outcome. Using the Full Arch protocol, we are usually able to avoid grafting.
Just because you need to replace all of your teeth at once doesn’t mean you aren’t a candidate for dental implants. Ask how full mouth implants can change your life.
